ARK 2 is the sequel to ARK: Survival Evolved. It was announced at the Game Awards 2020, and will be a survival sandbox similar to the first game, releasing on PC and next-gen consoles. ARK 2 takes place after the events of Genesis: Part 2 on an alien planet. All of the “clones” separated from the Genesis Ship have been dropped down afterwards.

  2. I understand that it’s probably too much to ask for, but I want something that genuinely feels like a sequel over just a graphical overhaul. NPCs or even a more story forward move like cutscenes (with our survivor being in them albeit being emotive but silent could be interesting, but the story related cutscene with the characters from the trailer could be completely separate from the game and just for hype generation though). Another thing that could help the game imo is more in depth survival mechanics and less sweeping “convenience” changes (at least not off the bat). I’m fine with Tek super late game, but I want early to mid game to be a lot more fleshed out. Think about the more in depth survival mechanics in Primitive Plus just more added to that like multi layered processes like needing extra step for creating some things like hide needing to be tanned or cured before being used on clothing or saddles as a barebones idea.

  6. Ark 2 won't take place on an ark so I'm curious how that will work. As far as taming I would like more egg stealing or baby stealing. You would have to hunt around for a mating pair of animals that have babies and then raise the animal. Would love to see some npcs. Imagine if there were towns you could interact with. Bring supplies in to sell or trade for different structures you can't make. And is there even going to be tek? Element?

  7. What I would like to see in Ark 2 (and possibly add to Ark as it comes to a close…)

    • Added character design features at the beginning of the game such as changing the size/shape of ears, noses, and mouths.

    • Better dino AI. Smaller, less powerful dinos should not be taking on larger dinos or groups of opponents. If there are sufficient dinos in a pack then yes, maybe take on a larger dino.

    • Since Primitive Plus is broken and unlikely to ever be fixed, incorporate some of the items into the main game such as Viking axes and hunting knives. Also add more armor choices such as chain mail.
