Hundreds of years of research in geology, paleontology, biology, and many other fields have produced abundant evidence that the earth is billions of years old and that fossils and geological features formed through many processes over eons of time. Additionally, the flood story is FILLED with hyperbole that would have been recognized by its ancient audience as a figurative description of an event in order to produce an effect and make a point, and NOT an example of ancient journalism or accurate science.
