ARK 2 is the successor of ARK Survival Evolved and ARK Survival Ascended but for a long time there was nothing but silence when it came to ARK 2. Will it still be published and is there still development happening? I am looking into what we saw in the past few weeks.

Everything in good time, if Ark has taught me anything since it's release years ago, it's the value of patience 🤣
imo asa must have very few people working on it, it has had so little done in 10 months now. if u watch snail leaders appearences at conferences they only talk about ark 2, all ark 2, the "next masterpiece".
i bet it will come sooner than most people think. but i hope asa gets more effort put in, from talking to people i see little excitement for ark 2, most people just enjoy ase or try to enjoy asa as they enjoy ark as a game, not as a "franchise", so they arent really interested in ark 2 which is a very different idea for a game.
one thing we can all agree on: they should be more transparent, but it wont happen 😔😭
It's the most we've heard about Ark 2 in ages, it caused some excitement lol. I still think we'll see it though, just not sure when.
I think ark 2 it's still in early development It is impossible to come out in late 2024 or anytime soon
I don't think there is nothing to be shown, no ark 2 or nothing. I see them in a very bad place, ASE still doubles ASA in players (I know ASE has a lot more content and in a few years maybe ASA will be as good or better, but still, if the game dies any sooner it won't matter anyways) and they are giving us useless features like Club to keep the game active and trying to take as much money as they can with paid cosmetics or stupid DLC's to prevent their game dying (and Snail Games).
If they had anything to show and make ppl hyped about to keep them engaged or anything like that, I don't doubt that it would been already shown.
And even if Ark 2 is being developed, I don't think is gonna be popular with that playstyle, and even if it is, I don't expect any longevity.
I’m done with ARK at least until ARK 2 is released. I think it will be very similar to Soulmask and I love that. The only bad thing is that it will surely come out full of bugs and with poor performance, so it will be enjoyable much later on

Honestly…we are talking about wildcard here. I do t believe anything till I see it. With the mess asa has become. I am no longer expecting anything from them.
Has Ark got enough interest and fans to make Ark 2 even worth making?
Id be surprised if they finish even all the asa maps.
Snail killed ark, what was barely still alive has been killed with pay to win micro transactions, cheaters, bugs and letdowns. And as even you said too, the 'Ark Spark', its gone!
I feel like SoulMask is legit Ark 2 but without dinos. Primitive combat with a sprinkle of alien activities, jungle style aztec world hmmmmm
