I'm still not happy about this. It still seems like bullshit to me. Taking ark and selling it back in shiny new package. At least with the previous bundle I could feel like i was paying for Ark 2 and getting ASA free. I really hope they prove me wrong and really make ASA feel like a new game. We shall see. I'll change my negative review and opnions if it actually turns out to be better game play. Not just better graphics.

The key is ASA has to be properly optimized, better menus, AI and graphics. It has to be a meaningingful improvment of ASE
I think its kinda scummy that if you want asa, the dlcs and ark 2, it will now most likely be $120 vs the $90 it wouldve been before.
You think it is better? Are you for real??? You realise they will charge FULL Price for Ark 2 right? You'll be paying $120 in the long run. How is that better?
For as much as I love your videos I'm done with ark. I lost my love for this game a long time ago and I don't like how they're going about this with the game. Only reason I still play the game at all is because you make the game look fun again. Your passion and love for the game and how much fun you have, be it alone or with others, playing the game is want makes it fun for me. I have no interest in A:SA and Ark 2 but I do love your videos. You have no idea how much your videos help me get through the day. Thank you for the videos Phlinger.

Lip service from the devs and a shell game.
Sunsetting official servers is a shame for those holdout players but i do understand the reasoning.
I understand and accept your bias, it makes sense for you.
I already paid for ASE and the DLC's excluding Genesis 1 and 2 which i would not download or store even on DVD disc….do not want.
ASE has been an amazing ride but at this point i would not pay for it twice.
They would have to offer ASA with the island then separate DLC's.
I would need multiple, compelling reasons in order for me to pay for ASE twice.
The promise of further ASA awesomeness is an empty promise much like the genesis 2 arcade fiasco…this is wildcard after all and the potential for future ASA suckage is very high.
I won't take that gamble, wait and see is where i am at now.

WC/Snail are still forcing players to pay for content that realistically may never materialise, how can that be a good idea?
not only do we have no idea what ark 1.5 will look like but they want to force their loyal customer to take another leap of faith directly after they lied?
sorry any deal that includes content that is not available is a con.. to buy DLC you need base game to Gauge the value of said DLC?
Understand their is no evidence that 1.5 will not be delayed

Ark is 400GB (not including promises added content)
WC specified release date is 6 mths
How does this not sound like a direct port?
I will state my bias:
more and more I’m not feeling ark2.. I was disheartened with the limited information we received and I took note of WC specification that they plan on new direction, (new direction reminded me of gen1/2 – missions)..
Ark! Its the same price if you break it down. Think we are stupid. Not getting it till free like they first said. Not getting ArK 2 Lost me as a player with over 8000 in game.
Good that they changed the plans because people were unhappy, but what they've replaced it with is not great. Basically the new price is the same as the ps5 asa + the dlcs. So they are throwing in genesis and genesis 2 for free. But still 60 dollars, and the bigger problem, starting all over again. I look forward to see what things are like when you get it, but I don't think I'll bother until it's very cheap. The cost of starting over is to step.
If do a how to transfer vid I'm sure the console players would love to know how to do it too…
Yes, I'm very interested in how put that server save file into single-player! Because I really wanna keep all my dinos and character from over the year!!
And I wanna know how they would give the players the save files to the official servers they are playing on as well 🤔 so many things I wanna know
I am very much so worried that ark 2 will be expensive. I was fine paying for the 1st bundle and paying for the dlcs. But if Ark 2 is $60 or $70, then we are paying more then originally offered. I love Ark, like a lot! But trying to come up with $120 to $130 is really hard for a lot of ppl.
I am sad about the new way the games are being sold. I will buy both anyways and maybe multiple times. Getting everything for a lesser price would have been nice.
It baffles me that people with thousands of hours in ark complain about a $60 game. Where else could you get thousands of hours of entertainment for that sort of money. It's not like you're hiring a new release DVD for 3 days. You couldn't by 6 Big Mac meals for that.
Or like Nintendo, where you buy one Pokemon game, but if you want all the content you have to buy the other version and have a Nintendo account for more $.
These devs couldn't be bothered to fix bugs that have occurred for years and have gone back on promises multiple times. Don't trust them and will not be getting the game till it is dirt cheap. Already spent money on all of the dlc for the first time, now they want me to buy it again?

I only play single / local games so the serevers shutting down not a major isue, but I dont have a x box x, and probally wount till next year, im hopeing to be able to play ASA on my xbox s, my pc will die trying to run Urea5, and hopeing to play Ark 2 on my curent xbox
I don't believe the are rewriting the ARK SE code and redoing the maps in only 4 months, plus add the extra functionality. That's rubbish, the will just port the existing code and release it still with all the dam bugs that the old code had. This is still $60 to get the same game with a few tweaks and hopefully better graphics. Why have they not released in game screens shots or video? Do they sill have nothing less then 4 months out? Also they are still not being transparent, they still have not got a full list of features or any screenshots?
So will I have to rebuy all the dlc? Just curious as PlayStation 5 player?
I'm actually disappointed on the bundle change. I've never been a fan of genesis gameplay (story was fine), so getting ASA (where I can start hosting a new set of story maps again) and ARK2 in a modest bundle price (assumedly an early access bundle price for ARK2) and then being able to get the maps up to extinction in a small additional cost and then completely ignore genesis works great for me.
I completed genesis in ASE and I don't feel like going through it a second time. Now I'm concerned that ARK2 will be steeply priced, the only hope there being that early access is significantly reduced on cost.
The biggest issue that my group and I have with the ASA upgrade is that there is no overlap between old and new. Give us a month or two once the new game is out before you get rid of all the old servers. Show us that the new one works first. I will be buying ASA and ARK 2, so that is less of an issue. It is still supposed to be on XBox game pass for the first year anyway.
For me, this is a positive move, what I've heard of Ark 2 makes it a whole load of do not want, so being able to get the whole of ASA without it is good.
I hope they make it much easier for transfers in single player. I hate having to backup all my saves pre travel then wait to restart then transfer then restart get what i want put it into the obelisk then restart then upload again make a backup and restart then get what i need from the obelisk then restart and go crosseyed
Were paying $60 to play a updated Ark for a year. Then we get Ark 2 and everyone will more than likely migrate to that at a possible $60. I don't really see the deal here.
can i just upload surtvivor have an option to save maps then go back to menu and load a map i want to go to with a disclaimer if a map is still saving. I play a lot of maps especialy rag as a booster to the other maps. If anything the player transfers are the most annoying part of playing in single player especially when im not sure what map a creature is on that i want to breed with
To add context to why I'm not very happy with the transfers I'm currently transferring my wyvern eggs from rag to scorched earth because i got a high health and melee on scorched
Ark II is going to be another wishy-washy console-kiddie flash in the pan game. Probably everyone will play it for a month, then it will go the way of the Dodo… A:SA has the potential to be what the actual playerbase wants. If only Devs made games the actual players want rather than games Twitch streamers are likely to make more money on.
I am not a WC fanboy, but I would like to point something out in their favor. Mind you my first interaction with WC support was
Me: "hey your game bugged and i lost 5 highly mutated rexes on official"
WC: "here enjoy some level 150 tames, your welcome!!!"
So I recognize they are not the most in touch with their gamers. BUT to their credit they did fix the base game. I have been playing this for 3 years and all i've heard from chat in official or forums is "fix the base game" or "yeah patch up the mess you made, how bout you fix it?" That is what they did so I don't hate them for that.
Frankly I've paid for both PC/steam and PC/xbox versions of ASE because I wanted the PC/steam mods content. I'm $180 into this game NOT a content creator and will still buy ASE and probably ARK II. I was super disappointed when I saw the first community crunch about this last week and it was in part your last video that helped me be ok with it. So thank you! Keep being you Phlinger we need the positivity!!!
if you can afford to buy a game you already got . good for you . real reason is you are a YouTuber making money out of ark plain and simple so you are BIASED !!
I think that the respawn bundle was the better value overall. Not just coming from my position as a content creator, but as a person that loves ARK in general. ARK has been my favorite game for quite a few years now and I think that the majority of people that feel the same as me will end up getting ARK 2 anyway, even if they currently think they won't.
The bundle is better sure… but the price..?! Do ppl not realise you're just paying for the DLC with ASA now instead of Ark2. We're still paying for content we've already bought. Should be more like 40 all in. Still cash grab imo.

I stand with the group that ASA is what I was hoping Ark 2 would be so I am happy, lol. Skeptical about Ark 2. I am not terribly interested in Souls-like combat, parkour, and some of the other things they've talked about. But Im open to having my mind changed when we get that far. 🙂

I’d like to see quicksand in swamp that slows you down and in scorched area that suck you under😂also the ability to dig traps place spears in them to kill trap dinos by covering with foliage with a ability to use a Tarzan vine to swing across like Indiana Jones also strong tidal rivers that suck you under like a ripe tide with exposed mud flats to allow you to get special resources 😅😅
