I feel like if they go thru with the souls like, third person only gameplay its gonna fail. as much fun that would be, its not "ark". i hope it ends up being a more primitive, tek-less and complex ark 1, as it was intended in the beginning
ark 2 will be a big fail
I am looking forward to Ascended. All I wanted is an upgraded and updated version of Ark. I am not particularly looking forward to Ark 2 but I will reserve judgement until it actually releases… 3 years from now lol
No way ARK 2 is coming in 2024. I don't even think we will see it in 2025 unless it is winter 2025.
They say that 95% of their time goes into the development of Ark 2, imagine what a failure ASA will be. And with so little development time going into ASA, which is now supposed to be a new AAA title…… which is stupid since all the other games I have had a free Unreal 5 upgrade…….. they are not giving ASA much attention, but charging a premium AAA price. And they a are still selling ASE without a disclaimer that you won't be able to play it anymore in August. Now people say that the game is very old so they need to shut down the servers…… what about AAA titles 10-15 years older that still have running servers and have 10 new iterations of their games all with still running servers.
Come on teach. I get your points but here is why I won't pay for it. Or buy ark 2. 1. Look what they have now with all the lag and blue screen issues that they have never fixed. They release annual uodates for Easter,Christmas ect and they brake the game every time. They get the current product right now I don't have much faith in the future. Plus the videos they have released are videos of what they want us to see. I can't count the amount of games that the company releases videos they want us to see of the good parts but when the
Game comes out the gameplay is trash. Ark 2 does not seem like anything from ark is going to be there. The fighting system does not interest me it not ark. They are promising so much but can't fix what they have. I just don't trust them

I hope Ark 2 have server with both Pvp and safe zones so you can enjoy pvp without being only about mega tribes and full base wipes.
People will play it if it start getting good reviews so I don't pay any attention to those that say they won't buy it.
People like ARK because it's Ark… not Dark Souls. People want the experience they're used to, not something entirely different. The modding community has kept ARK alive with great new maps and mods that should have been already included in the base game, i.e. Structures Plus. The 2 top player rated maps, Fjourdor and Ragnarock were created by modders, not Snail Games. Snail Games originally said we would get the Ark Survival Ascended upgrade for free. Now they say we have to pay for all the maps again, and by the way, you're going to have to buy any mods you want, with a paltry 50% of the mod cost going to the modder. Snail Games is doing absolutely nothing to get their 50%. I understand the majority of your youtube income comes from ARK content. What I can't understand is why you would continue to support such a corrupt organization like Snail Games that obviously could care less about their players (See latest mass bands on official servers). You can always make money somewhere, but you only have one set of principals. Regardless of how good ASA or Ark 2 might be, I will never purchase another thing from Snail Games.
So will the official pve be the same or will it be all solo

You can always find someplace to build and thrive on official servers. You just have to build small, survive, and not be a leech/ inconsiderate to the other players&tribes that are already server side. We used to enjoy your content, teach. What happened to you?
Saying the souls like stuff is a good thing is such an L take I can't lie
I don't play Ark for it's complicated skill based melee combat system. If I wanted some "souls-like" combat I'd play a souls-like game.
The over complicating of combat will 100% be an uninteresting gimmick just like when they did the exact same thing for Atlas' melee combat.
does this guy even play the game? i hope ark 2 is scrapped. specially with ark 1.5 coming out there is less reasons for 2. ark 2 is nothing but bad changes that break the core mechanics that made ark the game it is

I'm fine with a third person option. But they need a first person option too. If it is strictly third person I probably won't buy it or play it. Some games are great in 3rd person and some aren't. Example. First person in gta 5 online socks but gta 5 online in 3rd person is awesome.
Im still not sold on ark 2, I need more info than we have at the moment. Can't wait for ASA, it is going to be awesome, and in my opinion as well, definitely worth it!
I am most worried about the forced 3rd person bit…UE5 has me VERY excited. I have thousands of hours on many servers and single player…this has me all worked up! 😀

Im not paying for better graphics that I and all other PvP players will turn off anyway. This is great for PvE players that want it to look nicer but thats it. They will introduce new bugs, they will not fix the old bugs. Ive been in the software development industry for over 20 years and this looks to me like a train wreck about to happen and Ive seen many dev project go the same way. The changes to 3rd person ruin the emersion, the should like play is just not Ark. Sounds a little like you are now back peddling from because they threatened you…sus mate sus

They have 2 separate teams 1 working on ASA and 1 working on ark 2
The move to a "Souls" combat system will decimate the player base. Yes it might add more, but not to balance the loss. Most people I know who play Ark have no interest in a third person only "Souls" Ark experience
I'm not impressed with the video footage they have released… It looks nice graphically, but the character movement looks janky AF for the level of CGI technology we currently have. It's not a frame rate issue with replay on YT. The video is smooth, the people just move weird and jerky. Just an observation 🤷🏻♂️
