Right now, there is no reason that Ark2 needs to be developed by Wild Card. Wild Card can develop the base game platform and ASA:DLCs and Ark2 can be completed by another studio to keep everything on time.
It kind of looks like Snail decided to take Ark 2 off of WC hands and told them to focus on ASA and we’ll take care of Ark 2 for the time being.

I'm still excited for ARK 2. I was sadly bored with ASA after a month on the island. So unless modders start adding amazing stuff, like NPCs, quests, more things to do in the world(currently there's just caves and bosses) then I'm still looking forward to ARK 2 more than the same DLC for a few years. I thought I'd be more happy with ASA but beyond the amazing QoL it is still the same very basic in terms of limited gameplay ARK. If you've already done what ARK has to offer for 6k hours, there's basically nothing new to come back to(until the expansions start releasing with adventure packs).
ARK 2 will be bringing far more new content, and that's what I'm interested in now. Can't keep fooling myself that prettier ARK with amazing QoL but worse FPS is interesting.
Because ASA now exists, it makes me more excited for Ark 2 because at least we will still have a new ASE style game in development in the form of ASA, with new content. But with Ark 2 it will bring something different, new and interesting that will hopefully bring something fresh to differentiate itself from ASA.
But should we trust snail games? Also is there a chance that before ARK 2 they plan to add more DLCs to ASA? (new canon ones)
