Me Im going to wait to see if Asa is worth getting.
Snail and Wildcard are just going to ignore any negative feedback. They know most people will simply forget and still purchase both ASA and ARK2. They are going to squeeze money out of the player base and the players will let them. Only a minority will not buy ASA and ARK2 so these companies are just going to get away with it and do something worse next time.
Cool concept art is something anyone can get if they pay an artist a hundred bucks. Considering they originally said they would release Ark 2 in 2022 it is starting to feel they are going with the classic "let's pick our noses for years and then slap something together in the final 6 months" style of development. I can't wait for everyone's Pikachu face when the game releases with half of features broken and the other half missing 😀
I get alot of PvP player are pissed,but as a PvM player..with 7k hours in the game,I dont really care.
What I care about is if ASA would be a new journy for me like ASE was,and same goes to ARK 2 PvM side. But thats the greatness of ARK as it caters bothe kinds of players,even the casual and hardcore,everyone can find a gem in this awsome game,who has many bugs and issues,still best game I ever played,hoping for more of that come ASA or ARK 2..

If you never heard of Nooblets, you are not an ark player. He come with best and clever methods of tame, traps, etc… for ark players.
Ase official server player who has played official for over 7k hours I have gotten my money's worth from Ase I paid for it played it for 4+ years and I will buy Asa to play official again. Ase official needed to be wiped and I am glad for it as it was a dieing game as the tames people had were too high level and new players couldn't compete and it was pretty boring being at end game so people were playing less( just maintaining). With that said how it was all handled was poor but anyone who plays Ase knows wild card well enough to factor this in and accept it as they always live up to thier name with every update or release.

Why show concept art based off of "in-engine" builds? That's backwards asf.
At this point it doesn't matter if they have a preorder bonus of an actual living dinosaur. Not one more second of my time nor one more cent of my money will be spent on Ark, Ark 2 or anything else Snail Trail games sharts out.
Knowing ark very well and seeing what's been going on here's what I think is going to happen
The week of ASAs launch it will be delayed a total of 5 months they MIGHT put a price drop at that time if you pre order it.
Ark 2 is going to be delayed untill 2025 and will be EA when it does launch they will tey and sell it for $50-60 and $90 if you want to add the battlepass/dlc pass on. Once it leaves EA it will go upto to $60-80 for the base game alone.
Both games will be horribly broken with no anti cheat and nothing will get fixed.

here's the thing, if ASA was supposed to be FREE, then it should be free… also, i think the fact that Snail and Wildcard "by choice or not" are ignoring the whole BAN issue with Tea, amongst other feed back both negative AND positive is bad vibes for ANY future endeavors… anyone who spends money at this point on the franchise is wasting said money IMO…. that being said, i enjoyed my time in Ark despite the bugs that still persist since it went full version…. and TBH i kinda still have hopes it can be fixed one day… just obviously NOT under Snails leadership….

As popular as Ark is I am surprised how many people refuse to consider it an mmorpg just because it's survival not themepark. No where in the acronym Massive Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game does the word "themepark" appear. Or even it's sister concept Many Men Online Role Playing Girls. Ark even has unofficial role play servers where people pretend to be in the Game of Thrones universe. How are we not an mmorpg?
No matter how mad at Ark / Wildcard / Snail I might get for deleting the official servers with my five years of dino collections on it I still have to admit they don't screw you over as badly as mobile apps do. Reworded, what we allow games to do to us has set a standard so low that Ark looks like an holy angel in comparison. They hurt me but everyone else hurt me a lot worse.

As someone who has played a decent bit of Valheim and spent (too many) thousands of hours in Ark, I agree with your comparison, and it further makes me wonder if they're going to implement a system of stability with builds to limit them via gravity/wind/etc? That would definitely being a whole new element to base building and designa in Ark. Can you imagine having to be sure that your building can't, for example, be broken into by using a wyvern to blow loose sections that are barely balanced? And maybe even add dropping item damage for when the roof falls on your head? Hmmm….

The only thing i wand AND KNOW I WON'T GET is the preexisting overhaul mod at menu select updated. I started it once and it just kept crashing. I was then later told it was given up on for newer content…😢 I am not getting ARK2
WC, as per norm, ignores the issues and gaslights everything with "new" or "upcoming" content. I'm sure they are busy watching UE5 dev how-to videos to bring us that content. That ARK II dev whiteboard is getting pretty full…. maybe they'll stop watching the how-to's long enough to actually start coding something. As to the new "wood" assets, looks like it's based on a mod that allows the slanting of the pillars called "Pillars Plus" by Orionsun, who is a legend in the ARK modding community. I took part of Nooblet's poll, and I will be staying with my ASE modded cluster with lots of popcorn on hand to watch the sh*tshow play out.
I have left ark since the roadmap but I needed a break anyway. The ark 2 stuff is wildcard showing us what they just got done cause I don’t think ark 2 is coming late 2024

Arks biggest problem is they jump to soon they should rather keep quiet till they actually have things 80% done then bam surprise but no they will rather dump it and keep it dumped by doing their oh so famous it will be delayed.
