It’s sad. Some of the best times in gaming were the early arks. You remember these places you built and the battles you fought. There’s like a phantom history for every player. Fvck you WC you ruined a ton of potential fun.

Was a big fan of Ark in the early days. When you could realistically give Wildcard a pass for broken game mechanics, poor optimization etc. Then I quickly fled to private servers when official allowed for server transfers and the real hacking and cheating began. I had a lot of fun and put many hours in the game after that, accepting that most of the glaring broken mechanics and performance issues would never get addressed. Watching how the whole Ascended thing unfolded completely soured me to anything Ark going forward though. Probably won't ever put money down on a half baked reskin, which is what Ascended turned out to be. Rebuilt from the ground up my hairy arse. Kinda funny how he mentioned them delaying the map and instead they show the shiny new creature. They have done that so many times now, it's practically a meme.
not sure why everyone wants ARK 2 to happen, when WC can't even get a remake to work right when most of the game is copy pasted. Same bugs, same BS, same bad communication, etc, etc.
Ascended gets too much hate, I love it. The graphics look beautiful and I’ve played for 45 hours and had almost zero bugs

My issue is I payed for a beta again. Game barely works on console. I consistenly have issue with my saves where one instance my lvl80 hardcore run just randomly got deleted. It's been bs from the start and I pray this last delay nails the coffin shut and they feel forced to get there shit together

I haven’t watched a video fully but I’m gonna just say one thing I didn’t buy the game thinking it was a graphical update because I didn’t really care. I thought arc survival evolved had great graphics so I wouldn’t just buy a game just for the graphics I mean, if arc survival evolved had terrible graphics then I would be a little bit mad and on the same side as everyone else, but I bought this game because I can play with my friend on any platform, I didn’t care about it being the same exact experience I didn’t pay 30 bucks to have the same exact experience. I paid 30 bucks and yes I got it when it first came out on Steam and I still have it cause I love the game. Bought it just for my friends and hack my friends buy it every friend that I have that plays arc owns a game on PlayStation or PC or Xbox that mean if they upgrade some of them that love ark hasn’t upgraded yet but when they do, I’ll buy it for them because I know they love arc, and I can finally play on my PC and not worry about being on my Xbox, that’s what I got this for if anyone’s coming into this game thing this is the graphics update. I’m sorry you just paid for nothing if you came in this game because you wanted to play with your friends or you had friends that’s good you shouldn’t hate the game because at the end of the day you can still play with your friends on ark. by the way, I’m going to add on while I’m watching your video not like I’m watching it but I just wanna comment so I can I have bad memory how forget but yeah I wanted to say this power world I’m not gonna like because the graphics suck. Like on my server, me and my friend we don’t own it he don’t know with him and his other friend, but on my server, he has a mod where cry can be thrown anywhere across the map you don’t need to place down a cry just throw out your dinosaur you accidentally picked up with the Cofod cause you just created your cry pod and you didn’t cry when you didn’t want your your dinosaur to die so you created that cry pod to put him in there now you couldn’t use the pod it happened to me that’s why I’m saying it and I was angry and I get where he was going. Yes they keep telling you this and that and hasn’t happened yet but you guys gotta realize it’s not like a folder over the two different IP is in two different games. I’m learning how to be a developer. Trust me they have to like completely build it up from the ground up again, so you hating the devs just because they didn’t do their due date I’m sorry that’s a life it’s also holidays. Keep coming out like this game came out around I think and I don’t remember. The first day came out because I wasn’t paying attention I was just hyped that it came out but all those other holidays they want breaks with their family they want to actually spend time they’re not creating your game. No they actually try to make their money so they could spend it on their family and they also have a little family to spend time with. They can’t just be at work all the time in the world pushing our content for you guys, yes I do agree on one thing they should’ve never of put the map they should’ve just had the island they should gave us one extra map at least because I hate the island I’ve been playing the island since the first game my friend did not wanna try to go to another island. We tried one island. I loved it he hated it. He said the island is so small and easy to learn. They also messed up Survival of the fittest, They deleted the original game and released a mobile game in it's place, They had really skilled lpayers playing at an extremely high level and had a Lan event out in China, then all of a sudden they stopped supporting it. If they had gone to esports companies it could have been widely popular but they didn't. It just goes around and around and around, never sticking with one development and fixing it. The new version called tSOTF is nothing compared to the original, i have said it sinc eit was released, i installed it , played one game then deleted it and suprise surprise 3 months after release that game has died when the previous release of SOTF the real OG SOTF actually had a decent player base until they stopped supporting it and pushing for it.
Having played various MMOs previously, the new MMOs like Palworld, Enshrouded and Nightingale, all took survival game elements from earlier games. One that I particularly know of is Conan Exiles. That game has all the building mechanics, it has various forms of combat, a plethora of weapons, armor etc.
The last time I played, they had implemented gliders, sorcery and various new types of boss fights.
What every other survival game do not have that Conan Exiles got way back, was the climbing mechanic. Based only on your stamina limiting how far you could climb (or sprint, fight etc.).
The game also got various mounts, the best example are horses, though there are other types.
And lastly, I think Qwazzar77 will particularly like, is their thrall system (slaves). You can beat various NPCs around the map with your truncheon, drag them to the wheel of pain using ropes. Fighter thralls your can deck out with weapons and armor and join you in fights. While other thralls work the benches, smelters, etc.
What happened since I don’t play it anymore? Well, I clocked around 3860 hours finishing the main game 7 times, they added in-game shop (the bazar) with increased prices. I previously bought the DLCs, but they became greedy. You know how it goes. And they released one map besides the one from launch of the game.
I don't even play ark or anything else, I just found palworld and was very excited. If there really is zero innovation, I guess I'm just impressed by old mechanics that to me is new.
All the haters can hate, my ASA server runs better in every way vs old ASE ever ran. Cross play also works awesome, my girl plays on my server with her Xbox, and it looks and plays great! Also, i understand most people now days do not know how to read but as of today 2/26/2024 Early Access Game is still on page so well yep I can see your true IQ cheers!

ARK1 have instalation 400 GIGAbytes without modes, and still looks like shit, just that alone drive me away
The end of ark was when they promised to give everyone who already bought the game and its many expansions a free copy of the graphical update, people with thousands of hours in ark.
They didn't do that, what they done was shut down all the Ark Evolved servers, you can only play that on private servers and expect everyone who had those thousands of hours to buy the graphical update. Not many of us did, two out of seventeen people on my steam friendlist from ASE have bought the new one, that's a low percentage when you put that onto everyone else friendlist you had a small rush of people who had never played Ark before jumping on the game like it was new trying to stream about it and make "how to" videos when there are already thousands of those on youtube, they probably realised the amount of time you need to spend to actually play the game and most folk stop when they realise that.
Wildcard is a company that was made by a guy who signed an agreement with his old employers saying he wouldn't poach staff or go into competition with his old employers, he signed that agreement, then he got his wife to start a company under her maiden name and he went and poached staff and started the game he said he wouldn't. He was sued for a lot of money and eventually settled on about 40 million, this is why they released an early access DLC called Scorched Earth that is still not finished.
Before the game went full release they were FORTY MILLION in debt because of shady business practises. They're not changing now. They have nitrado as the only server runners for ascended because they owed Nirtrado money.
They are right the same problems and more are in the ASA, meshing, photo mode which is absolutely stupid, Removal of total vegetation which gives you the advantage of seeing base in the middle of the forests, after all it's dead game

What still surprises me to this day is Microsoft giving WC the green light to publish this game on the Xbox. ASA has to be the worst functioning game on the Xbox right now.
I love how everyone is blaming Wild Card 100%. Wild Card aren't the greedy ones. It's the publisher, Snail Games. Wild Card just can't optimize a game if their life depended on it but they have 0 decisions over monetization. Snail games has a history of killing games just for greed. Look at Atlas. Lost Oasis. This is where our countries meet and go our own directions. China has a strong censorship. You cant talk bad or it affects your social status. So ASE and ASA are both Chinese owned games. This is a culture shock cause we are expecting a release that we would see in American. This is a Chinese game and there is a reason you don't see many Chinese games as blockbuster hits. They like to cut corners and save money so more can be taken for them lol. Once they realize that the golden goose doesn't lay golden eggs it'll be sold off hopefully to an American company that can give it its due.
Try to talk bad about whats going on and where the community relations are and you will be banned quickly. The ark forums is censored big time! All you see in comments are "doomtuber this" and "doomtuber that" but if you quote them and try to say its not quite right, the volunteer mod jo3bl0w13 will remove it and penalize your account. The Ark franchise wont shine until its given a new owner. A mobile game maker that's goal is micro transctions cant make a solid game. it just cant happen. What about our Russian and Ukrainian friends?! I have not seen nay of my old Russian buddies cause they are too busy warring! Why release a game in the middle of a conflict when that makes up a % of you player base? cause they needed money quick!
