  1. Not a fan of souls like combat. I do t think it really has a place in ark… but maybe they'll design it well and fix the glitch hit boxes and such and make it work

  2. Honestly I’m not super worried about the combat changes, mostly due to the fact it sounds like at least in some ways the Ark 2 engine will have major improvements, then switching it to only third person, npc factions and enemies, and the more skill based combat almost sounds similar to last oasis in a couple of ways. I think that is probably the direction they’re trying to go in. For me personally I just hope the Dino AI is way more advanced with stuff like sleep schedules, traveling patterns and more natural things to do other than wander around aimlessly.

  3. One thing I hope they change is when u make your own world and invite a friend, you don’t have that radius, which allows you to go a certain distance. That’s the worst thing ever 😂😂

  4. I feel like ark2 might fail they are changing it to much from the source the game we have all come to love and enjoy the ai tribes and story is fine but I play ark first person it adds to the fear like when your running around than out of no where an alpha raptor attacks you. It's like taking cod and making it a third person game

  5. I'm a big fan of souls games but I 100% agree with you that if it would be on Ark in it's current day & age, it'd be a huge problem. Though I'm hopeful it'll work out!

  6. Not to worry too much somewhere out there I saw a video can't remember where I was reading on Reddit Vin Diesel said he's played the game ark 2 all ready with his kids so it can't be that hard can't see kids playing a dark soul game lol 🤣

  7. No, just no, need the same/little bit tweaked mechanics as ark1, fix bugs, introduce server admins, remove tek, remove server transferring and bring the game back to a more primative setup that it was always meant to be. ( new combat mechanics and no first person will ruin the game) why try and change combat and first person if that's what people like about ark 1, fix what is broken about ark 1 like tek, server transfers, cheaters, bugs. And keep what everyone loves about ark 1, otherwise it will be a flop like atlas.

  8. Well it was fun to think, we were getting a new Ark game.Considering the past history of Ark this will be a buggy fuck noodles which will die within a month of release

  9. Just wait till everybody realizes that the game is going to be primitive tech. Not sure why everybody is so worried about the souls like "melee" combat, Ark has always had bad combat and most people don't fight in melee range so the souls part isn't probably going to factor in if you are attacking from range.

  10. not liking third person only, and all this target locking souls combat just means more stupid hotkeys or combos to remember… just leave the ark combat the way it is with better hit detection etc. No tech dinos please, just regular ol dinos…

  11. Forced third person always makes me mad, it feels both restrictive and clunky in EVERY game that has it, especially survival games. Souls like combat did okay in Conan, but it'd need some heavy optimization and tweaks for fighting fucking dinosaurs. I have hopes for the AI, but who knows.

I feel like Vin Diesel being given a lead was a horrifying mistake. He's not known for being a good director of anything, but he is known for being stubborn and a butthead when it comes to getting his way. Definitely seeing some "combine all the individual things people like from every OTHER genre" vibes. Like adding bananas to salsa, I like both, but not together ffs.

  12. just from 1:15 into the video i would say that i would have to agree on the bit that putting souls like combat into the CURRENT ark game would not end well….at all XD but Ark 2 sounds like its a complete rework. new engine, and style, even adding "high end AI" (we'll see….. first ark said that the dino AI was going to be astounding when it wasn't) to the other tribes NPCs.

this is where the term "I'll believe it when i see it" truly shines
