the fact they are wiping all the old servers means i most likely wont be buying ark 2 or ascended it feels alot like the great migration all over again

Having to rebuy the dlc is bs. Buying the new version since it’s more then just a facelift is understandable.
It would be cool when the new are comes out you do a overview on the special creatures from each map like from scorched earth the rock elemental and the others maps and creatures
This actually pleases me, I think a lot of Ark 1's problems were directly caused by letting it out of the bag too early. They had far more ambitious plans for a deeper survival game but it took far too long for what were supposed to be core mechanics to come. The leeches and the "Swamp Fever" nuisance are great examples of this, Diseases were meant to be a much bigger part of the survival experience but by the time we got a taste of it the playerbase was far too settled into an unfinished version of the game.

This is such a disappointment. Ark 1.5. Wild card is just testing out Ark 2 before they release it and making bank on us to test it . 🤦♀️
Many things suck about this announcement, but what upsets me the most is having spent 2 years growing and building a base, make friends on the server, and added tribemates will all be wiped and we will have to start over. Are we going to lose our tames as well? Do we have to rebuild out characters from scratch?
Ain't no way they're charging us for the Game and every DLC again
Ark should not have cross platform. The skill gap between console and pc is so unfair for pvp

not gonna lie… as a working man who discovered ARK in 2019 I still haven't had enough time with THAT game so ARK II being delayed doesn't really bother me much. It's not gonna be the same genre game anyways yeah? More of a combat RPG if I recall correctly. But my hat's off to you fiends who have thousands of hours in the first game and want the new stuff tips hat
They gonna fix all the bad lag and glitchy ness of the ps5 and Xbox versions

I just hope they take full advantage of the delay and make it as good as it can be; make our wait worth it. Ark2 is the only, and I mean only game I am willing to break my no buying early access games rule for.
Ark one itself is still trash. They need to fix that junk before they ever try to release a second game anyway. This may be good news.
Best possible news. I'm expecting Ark 2 to be a soulslike, which I'm not into (I prefer FPS and survival) so if Ark 2 is like Valheim and ASA is like Sons of the Forest from a camera/combat standpoint, I'm far more stoked for ASA than Ark 2.
I think it would be nice that Ark Survival Acsended will do away with upload timers. and make singleplayer and multiplayer work the same unlike survival evolved where build caps(can be increased in SP), uploads(make it so people can upload items that are in there inventory like in official and have smooth transistion closes the map your on and loads the new map make them toggleable incase you want to change them) are the same or similar to official but of course can be tweaked/changed in singleplayer. and please remove tethering.
on the Ark 2 situation i am happy they delayed it. I would rather Ark 2 get delayed and work well than release on time and be completely broken.

Honestly I never truly felt like Ark SE was complete, so was surprised when they announced Ark 2 at all. I guess if ASA ends up being the complete game Ark SE promised us then that works, but expecting us to pay for it is kind nuts. Though you do make some good points about the reasons for a complete remake rather than an upgrade and that is a pretty resource intense process.
Will they be doing away with the tethering effect on either Ascended or survival evolved?
I hope that this new ark will be available on Pc and Xbox Gamepass

I was good with paying g again as part of ark 2 but if they are gonna make us pay for the dlc maps I am gonna be done with ark.

Honestly, with a full official server wipe i cannot wait to see all the Ark youtubers pumping out some great PVP content again as we will lose all the super mutated lines, yes they will come back, but that first month or so is going to be epic
I belive there decision in delaying the ark 2 was the right one, No one wants to play something worst than ark 1, something with lots of features missing and an overall bad product. If they need time we should give them time. I just don't understand why they want to tell us a date if they never deliver it.
so basically we paid full price for a game preview dlcs ect , to then be waiting for ark two and then they go oh heres what our original game should have looked like give us another 50 for it and u can have ark 2 which wont come out till 2024[wildcardtime] early 2026 and on top of that all the dlcs for the new version of ark u can buy them again aswell
Gonna be honest, i don't know what ark two will be like, and i loved ark one, so i would honestly prefer the remake over ark two.

When I heard about ark 1.5 I always imagined it free. Now that I understand it' not just better graphics and it's a lot more I can understand why it's paid but the 50 $ it's really frustrating. It's a really good price for two games since every AAA title is now 60/70 $ but The majority of their buyers are people that already have the preivous game so basically we are just paying for a game we don't even know what it is plus we are losing our dlc's. The price of the base game can remain the same but at least the dlc's should be given by free if they have been bought preisously. The people that have every dlc and are buying this new bundle are your most hardcore fans and you should hear there voices. I just want to say we love ark and we really want it to suceed, I am more excited than ever to play the base game again but the prices, expecially the DLC need to be reconsidered.
if they were soo intent on making the game as good as possible i doubt they wouldve Cast Vin Diesel in cause you know that costs a large portion of their budget just to pay him for his appearance in it does that mean the game wiill be bad? no but it definitely doesnt mean its going to be good

At first I was pretty upset. However after thinking about it for a while I’m actually pretty hype about ASA. I’m in game development myself and since I’m also working on moving a game from ue4 to ue5 it’s not as simple as it sounds. You have to rebuild the assets in Nanite and because lumen is lighting in real-time some levels have to be rebuilt a bit. I’m pretty excited about it to be honest. 😊

Weird, it sounds like you’re brand new to Wild Card. If you’d been around for Arks entire lifespan you’d know they are horrible at deadlines. They’ve delayed every single content drop so far. Every single one… Wild Card sucks.
