5 Changes I hope they make to the Sabertooth in Ark: Survival Ascended and Ark 2

As we get closer to the release of Ark: Survival Ascended, I do think they should take another look at some of the forgotten creatures that have been passed over during Ark: Survival Evolved. Today, I’ll be talking about a few things I think they should add to the Sabertooth Tigers in Ark.

  1. honestly I think giving the sabertooth a debuff like the heavily injured debuff you get as a player where it does damage when you attack and sprint would be nice, plays into the saber puncturing it's teeth into prey.

  2. I would like to see different gaurd formations for dinos. So if you were on a Parasaur you could have dinos around you in a plus formation, so one in front of you one behind you, and one on each side. Also give the dinos your riding the ability to knock down tree's by themselves if they are capable of doing it when riding, or maybe a phase ability when on guard, or protect duty. For fun give the Mamoths the ability to drink up water with there trunk and spray your friends lol.

  3. They most certainly should give sabers a pounce attack as well as a higher vertical jump. Big cats are some of the most athletic creatures on the planet after all. Wouldn't mind seeing a pride bonus too.

  4. I think they should make the males and females look different. Manes for the males and no manes for the females. Also the males should have slightly higher base damage and the females should have slightly higher base speed

  5. The Sabor should have a "substantial" weight reduction for hide in addition to a larger stack. I agree over all. I think all of the underwater creature need looking at as well.

  6. I completely agree with your take on the Sabretooth! There are also some of the more vanilla type dinosaurs that would be great to have a weird twist. Like maybe a dodo that can climb a tree….lol.

  7. I agree, but I have a feeling that the game is going to die and take even longer to make. Sorry, these bigger companies that are in China that are dying, well Its going to take down Ark 2 and it's going to be bought out by another company. That is just my feeling, and I hope things change, but from what I have seen and experienced, that is the death row it has taken by going after its players for money. Not to mention the player's view as well. If they go to a 3rd person only view, it's going to kill this game. But its dead already and China works in weird ways. Time will tell. But I see the company selling them out to some other developer, or another company that is interested in them. It is going to get UGLY!

  8. I somewhat agree with the whole camouflage idea, but make it more like hiding ability in shadowy areas and long grass etc, maybe for short periods of time, no fun if you can "constantly" hide all the time. Maybe even add a pounce attack from a hidden position or something to that effect

  9. A "Sabertooth TLC" is a thyla. Sabertooth is a low-level, entry level, basic tame. The sabertooth is not an 'apex predator' in a world of rexes and gigas. If anything, make the thyla better to differentiate them more.

  10. weight reduction on hide and pelt, the stacking ability would be not really of any real benefit. hold jump down for a longer jump/pounce perhaps (or right click option). This increases the range of the jump and perhaps extra damage for first attack.

  11. I agree, i think they should make dinos have their unique skills so that they don't get overshadowed by other dinos in some aspects. Like moschops, it's your go to for a gathering dino at the start, but once you unlock the sickle and iguandon saddle both at lv 30 it automatically gets overshadowed.

  12. I've had a love hate relationship with the sabertooth. Love the idea, never really liked the tame as it is today. I would love a rework on this animal. The stealth-pounce mechanic would be great but they also need an HP buff. It's embarrassingly low. I'd love to see something based on the actual prevailing theory on how it hunted. A power charge bite attack would be interesting. Pack hunt bonus would be cool although its been done already.

  13. I agree with everyone here about the pounce being similar to a raptor pounce. I think the stealth mode could be a crouch and crawl type of thing. Think of discovery channel watching a big cat in the wild sneaking up on prey, or a house cat sneaking up on a toy.

Another dino dear to my heart that needs attention is the parasaur. They have powerful legs and can carry so much, only to get stuck on every little rock. Give them a jump, even a small one.

As far as the stacking goes, I hope they adjust stack sizes on most things. Anything that weighs under 50 pounds should stack into 50 pound stacks. Using hide as an example, a current stack of 100 weighs 2 pounds. The new stack size would then be 2500. Chitin and keratin would be 5000. This could be offset for blackboxing by reducing heavy item stack size to 50 pounds as well. Metal would be stacks of 50, black pearls stacks of 25, and so on. Or better, increase all the stack sizes and separate PVP and PVE settings for things that PVPers complain about that are not issues in PVE (remember when PVE got rid of cryo sickness?)

  14. Hmmmm… If I was working at WC I would make something based on this video… First, the hide weight reduction that be instant and easy thing to do, then I wouldn't make them invisible like the Shadowmanes nor make it get latched at stuff like the Deinonychus, I would give it a second stance, where it crouches like a cat when they are hunting, y'know like what they do before shaking their butts and attack. And in said stance it would be immune to the Parasaur detection, because that's OP as hell!!! And here it's the fun part, it would pounce like a Raptor to small things and start to drain it's own stamina and the enemy's stamina, and if the enemy stamina is completely depleted, then it would execute it! Because it has like those giant teeth, so it only needed one single bite to take down whatever it wanted as a meal, so let's take that into Ark, and with the stamina drain system (like a Thagomized) it would help to insta-kill small creatures, while still give them a chance to run away or fight back, and if they break free then they would get the gnashed debuff, because those teeth aren't just for showing.

So just picture this, you are farming some berries near the mosh pit and then, between the bushes you see a big kitty mean face, then you try to run just to be punced by a giant mean kitty wich is draining your stamina and then deliver a final deadly bite, those things used to have our ancestors as meals, so trying to awake some very old fear deep inside our very DNA.
For reference check out how the big mean kitties execute our ancestors in the game Ancestors the Humankind Oddyssey.

  15. Well since they gonna add a lot of mechanics to the dinos in Ark 2 sabertooth has the element of surprise compere to Thilo because of the size. If they add tall grass to the game it can snick inside it with the player laying down to the saddle so the pray won't notice him and when they are near right click can be the pounce attack twords that creature holding it down for a lot of damage. For the and the developers can add the sense of smell for finding the pray at night or when you hiding inside the grass…

  17. What I would like to see is more color in the animals. Unless there is a holiday event, many animals are really dull colored. I NEED COLOR IN MY LIFE! Worse yet, is when you see colors during an event, most of the animals are low level and I have to breed up just to add color to my life.

  18. I WAS THINKING THEY NEEDED A LATCH ABILITY. Also instead of the camouflage maybe give them a "stalking" mode, where they're not invisible, but they have a much smaller range where wild creatures notice them.

  19. Or give Sabers the same ability as Ghilli/cactus brew so in single player it is hard to get aggro on if you're not attacking anything.

    Avoid parasuar detection

Multi-player enemies won't be able to see info or reticule color change when they are looking at your tame.
