Aside from everything having to be repurchased what disappoints me the most is the official cancellation of prim+, if they released a properly fixed and improved version in the remaster it would have been great as in my opinion itās the best way to get the long gone āark feelingā, back when your biggest threat was a trex and not Ironman with a tactical nuke.
ASA is coming in 2024 ark 2 is coming in 2026 and ark the animated series is coming out in 2024 or 2025 is my takeaway from this

It feels like Wildcard knows they could do better with Ark 2 given more time, and that good or not it won't be the Exact experience we all loved with Ark 1 – so they're doing their best to give us both. I'm personally happy with that. I don't mind waiting, and ASA sounds like it's going to be fun :3.

I only paid 20 for the game originally and like 40 for all the dlc's and i have like 500 days played i have often paid 60/70 for a game and only played it for a week or less so im not gona be to upset about having to pay for it again that being said hopefully you only have to pay for the new dlc im at a stage where I barely play anymore anyway

I think it's a little "greedy" of wildcard to also resell the DLCs. Giving the DLCs for free would give them easy brownie points.
Yeah thanks for the update. At this point it is hard to see many people still excited for ARK 2. I play on a big cluster and the people I talk to about it all seem very disappointed in the constant delays to the point where many of then don't even want to buy into it if and when it comes out. A part of me applauds WildCard for taking their time instead of shooting out a game that's not even remotely ready but they shouldn't have told gamers so soon and hyped people up so much just to deliver delay after delay. We'll that's just my thoughts. I hope that when the game does get released it will be worth the long wait.
I say it's all good. I'd much rather have a more polished and enjoyable game experience than a frustrating Early Access mess as too often happens with EA releases. Delaying ARK 2 will presumably allow them to more seamlessly incorporate a more complete UE5.x feature set, which itself is still being improved. In the mean time, we'll have ASA running on UE5 in a few months. And for those bemoaning the $50 price, think of it this way; for less than what most new top tier games are costing these days, we'll be getting both ARK 2 when it releases AND the newly remastered ASA base game to play with in the mean time. Looking forward to it all.

I think them moving it to UE5 is very bad mistake. The games already hard to run no matter what u play on. Why make it look nicer, when the overall gameplay will be bad? Unless they add a performance option for 60fps solid but UE5 might make that hard
So excited for ark in UE5, I get people are upset to lose their hard work but just THINK about Ark feeling & looking like a 2022/2023 game š

No gameplay, just them listing features they want for Ark2.
First they said UE5 upgrade will be free, now we get the privilege of buying the game again on a broken pile of spaghetti code.
I fail to understand why some players view this move as acceptable, at least in terms of ASA. They promised the UE5 upgrade to be free, only to pull the rug under us by trying to lock it into a commitment with Ark 2; a game we've seen 0 gameplay of and constant delays. Not to mention it would shut down Ark 1's official servers, AND you would need to buy the DLCs again.
If you for any reason think it wouldn't be a buggy mess; I raise to you Atlas – a game they tried to hide was just reskinned Ark, sell at full price and was a buggy mess at launch.
Bloody hell Wildcard, I get you need to please your corporate overlords but fuck me this is next level avaricious greed.
And thus, the future of ARK died for me.
There's no way I'll support this. I'll continue playing on the original ARK that I've already paid for, on non-official servers and single player.
There's absolutely nothing positive for the community in this, and those who do decide to pay for what they already own, well they are basically paying to get spat in the face.
This is just ark one with the same story New graphics I'm not buying the game all over again just for the graphics no way
