  1. I love ark but my biggest question is are they going to continue to use Nitrado servers or will they be making the jump to g-portal or AWS because I don't want ark 2 to be another lag fest

  2. Lots of mixed feelings. I think what we really needed was:

    1. Stable low ping servers without cheats and meshing
    2. Interesting taming mechanics and cool unique and useful dinos (real dinos I mean)
    3. Better maps with lots of spaces to build at
    4. Structures+ built in the game
    5. Much better building system
    6. Balanced PvP

    Now I feel like they're focusing on too many things. Nobody wanter parkour or soulslike fighting mechanics but there they are with the 3rd person only option, that the majority of players almost never use. Also, how are they planning to implicate those new fighting animations into PvP? Thousand of variations of tools (not clothes)? I don't know. Doesn't sound like something we wanted. But let's wait. I may be too pessimistic.

  3. Ark 2 really needs to nerf flyers. Get as close as they can to removing flyers without removing them. 99% of the Ark population has ZERO clue how flyers limit and or remove ALL OTHER LAND Dino's Meta. unless you played on a no-flyers server. You don't know what it's like to romp around the map on a pack of Rexes or rolling up on a tribe on wolves/bears and having to run from them (try too). It also shrinks the map to a massive degree, avoids a good part of all the danger as you can just fly over it.

    And I get it, flyers are nice. If I had a say I'd make the air space have 3 layers.

    Layer 1 weaker flyers can fly in (Just above the tree tops) but you'll move slowly over the tree tops. Still in danger of most things. You can fly higher up (level 2) but you'll run out of stam faster. Very fast if you touch Layer 3. These are your get off the ground and move around with risk flyers. however they should have a ton of farming utility or other general use.

    Layer 2 mid power flyers can fly higher and a bit faster. You lose less stam if you're in layer 1 (Risky level/tree tops) but you can drain stam slower then weaker flyers and dip into layer 3 (draining stam more) These are the PVP flyers and shouldn't have a ton of HP/Power but balanced around PVP.

    Layer 3 strong flyers of course these flyers can fly faster across the map and only drain stam quickly if they dip into layer 2 and VERY QUICK if they hit layer 1 Need that air flow for those big wings! The idea is to have your transport/fast flyers not be used at fighting units that can mess with people on the ground. You would almost be grounded right away if you fly too low. You'd have a means of protection when you first take off to get into the high area before your stam gets nuked. If you land on the ground, you'll need to wait a good amount of time before you can launch into the high skies again.

    each of these layers could be shown by color change in the sky or something along those lines. (Think Fog, but not fog. We all hate fog).

    Radical idea I know. The above is just a barebone structure with an overall concept of how to balance flyers. IT NEEDS WORK. Lots of it. But the general idea allows for 3 tiers of flyers and a mechanic to prevent people from using them in areas they should not. That's the problem with flyers right now. You can take a Wyvern and kill 100 small dinos with a single breath or 5.

    Try that with the above system? Sorry you don't have the stam needed to breath cast or swipe. You're in the wrong zone for that. Your nerfed. Fly higher and you get your damage back and breath so you can fight targets up high.

    Alpha Tribes that build up high avoiding ground dinos, deal with the power of powerful flyers. Tribes that build low… bring your best ground game! Your big flyers are useless.

  4. The fact that creatures like the Rex are going to be able to perform Viscerals really hypes me up for this game! Viscerals in the souls games are essentially when you hit an enemy hard enough to where it gets stunned. (Then you can perform a backstab or a finisher)
