I'll always be hopeful for Ark 2 because i'd love to experience a "new" Ark game, but I'm very much looking forward to the UE5.4 update. I'm not surprised that it probably won't come with Aberration though, although I think it's best if it doesn't.
My heart goes out to the devs that crunched for months to try and make the original 2023 release date for Ark 2, only for all their work to be put into this uncertain limbo that may never see daylight, and then have to crunch again to get ASA functional.
The thing that frustrates me the most about ASA's direction is that it seems to be primarily a graphical upgrade with light QoL upgrades. Of all the things ASE players have been asking for in a remake (better UI, better dino AI and pathfinding, fixed meshes, better performance), ASA either fails to meaningfully improve on ASE or even worsens the issues.
Fancy lighting and 4K textures might make for good trailers, but expecting players to pay full price again for the game (and much more for the hardware to run it) is a hard sell when nothing we actually want upgraded is being focused on.
So stupid of course their rerelease of a old game is gonna fail they’ve had to long to aggravate their fans and loyal consumers.
ark is the reason I always updating my gpu since 2015 about 2 years ago i bought 4090 and ASE performed 4k 90plus fps on max settings. In ASA I cannot have all max on 4k and get same fps. still playing 4k with 60+ but with some options on high not epic. and with DLSS. I also play meny different games so no complaints from my side, but nex GPU update will be with ark2)) otherwise I stuck with 4090 for 3-4 years or even more
ue5.4 will not change performamce much, there are plently of ue5 games that run perfectly fine, the problem is in design choices of asa and the refusal to add lower graphics settings (ignoring unlocked console stuff and hacks). even at launch they could easily have added sensible graphics settings and they chose not to. why? idfk honestly no design choices of asa make any sense to me.
Und drittens es gibt kein pay to win.

I have hopes for ark in the future, until then i gotta find other ways to pay my bills 😅

What pisses me off, is I'm playing games from 2013 right now, and they look GREAT… RUN even BETTER. Why do they constantly feel the need to upres EVERYTHING. Ark Survival Evolved look alright, all they needed to do was find a way to make ASA be compressed, load quicker, and look a LITTLE better and I'd have been happy.
What’s crazy is that everyone is freaking out about ark 2 being tied to asa success. We’ve literally known this since they announced asa and then sunset the ase servers. This isn’t anything new.
